I was sitting on the sofa yesterday and decided I was determined to fix the bathroom light. Since we moved in it has not worked along with one of the kitchen down lights and I am not tall enough to reach the ceiling ( which are very high) and when I asked OH to get up there and try and take the covers off it all became to much!!! The real estate has of course been notified but you have to remember this is Metropolis and things move a whole lot slower here. So out came the new step ladder thingo and up I went to investigate. Bottom line - I worked out how to remove the covers - took down the bulbs - donned the backpack and walked up town with bulbs - went to Metropolis Coles and just kept taking the bulbs out of their boxes until I found the ones I was looking for. We now have light - kitchen and bathroom. I had to put phone books on the step ladder as I still couldn't reach but eventually I got it fixed. Annnndd washed the covers to boot!
Also extremely lucky to have managed a Three Amigo chat with my girls Calam and Miss B. God it is ridiculous that one small 30 minuteish chat with those two can realign my entire focus and keep me plugging away. I laughed out loud at them both and felt absolutely brilliant after we finally had to go on with our normal lives.
After our chat finished I decided to again tackle Federation Walk. This is a pathway put in by a few of the mines and dotted along the way are these bizarre stops. For example - first off there is a warm up bench with metal benches and a pole with a circle on it and a stick man doing warm ups. Then we have two bar things and the stick man pole/circle description thing showing press ups. And so it goes on. I am up to 10 press ups on the higher bar and don't even think about the low one I would pass out. I am up to 10 step ups and overs / ten sit ups ( bloody near kills me) and 10 of various other pole/bar thingos. I absolutely cannot do the leg up things or the chin ups and the monkey bars???? Ahahahahahahahahahaha! I am definitely not 5 years old. Suffice to say my arms feel like someone has pulled them from their sockets and my tummy feels like I have been on the bottom end of a State of Origin scrum!!!! ( With Queensland winning of course).
Did The Walk again this morning and now need a Bex and a good lie down to recover. I think it is now time for a wholegrain tuna roll and the last two episodes of Stephen Kings Kingdom Hospital Mini series which I have on DVD.
Good times yes Good times.
Txxxxxx

Go you for fixing the lights yourself!
I'm hopeless at that type of thing :D

I still have a very long way (21.5kgs to be exact) til goal, so i really have to keep head down and bum up...
I can't wait until we're all there - celebrating our achievements together!!
